An implant is a small titanium screw that fits inside your jawbone and replaces the root-part of a missing tooth. Minor surgery is required to insert the implants. Once the implant is in place, a crown is attached to give you a highly realistic-looking and functional prosthetic tooth.

A titanium bar is a strong, milled framework used to reinforce an All-on-4 zirconia prosthesis, providing enhanced strength and stability. Unlike the prosthesis made of zirconia alone, reinforcing the prosthesis with titanium bar, distributes biting forces evenly, reducing the risk of fractures and wear. It also minimizes the need for future repairs and adjustments, offering long-term durability and fewer visits to the dentist. This combination ensures a secure, comfortable fit that supports daily use and delivers peace of mind for years to come.

Zirconia is a ceramic and is brittle and is prone to fracture.This means it doesn’t distribute biting forces as effectively, placing more strain directly on the material and the implants, which can lead to premature wear or fractures. Using zirconia alone for an All-on-4 prosthesis increases the risk of fractures, chipping, and wear due to its brittleness. Without a titanium bar, it lacks sufficient support, which can lead to excessive stress on implants and increased risk of repairs. The prosthesis may also become bulkier, affecting comfort and esthetics. Reinforcing with a titanium bar provides added strength, stability, and long-term durability.

Dr Priya Colluru, a native of India obtained her dental degree in Dr MGR Medical University in India. She then completed post graduate training in the speciality of Prosthodontics from Louisiana State University. She is board eligible and is looking forward to be board certified.

Her areas of expertise include complete and partial dentures, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, TMD and sleep apnea. Dr Priya Colluru believes that knowledge is virtue and strives to update her knowledge and skills through continuing education to render evidence based dentistry. During free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends ,with their puppy Spandy and reading. She has affiliations with American College of Prosthodontics, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association

Dr Krishna Colluru is a native of India and graduated from Dr MGR Medical University. He then obtained his DDS degree from New York University School of Dentistry. His areas of expertise include root canal treatment, surgical exodontia, dental implants. He is proud to serve the country in the capacity of Captain in the United States Army Reserves and strongly believes it is an honor. His hobbies include photography, listening to music and loves to cook on his Kamado grill.

He has affiliations with Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association.
